What we see when patients come in frustrated with their skin not dramatic problems usually. The kind that builds slowly.
Sun damage that accumulated over years and now shows as uneven tone, brown patches, rough texture. Acne scars that haven’t faded the way they were supposed to. Pores that look larger than they did a decade ago. Fine lines that crept in gradually and are now consistently visible.
Most of these patients have tried things. Creams that helped a little. Peels that gave short-term brightness. Products that worked for a while and then stopped. They come to us at Reagin Aesthetic not looking for another temporary fix. They want something that actually changes the skin at a structural level.
Helios Laser Treatment is what we use for exactly this.
What Helios Laser Treatment Actually is?
Helios is a dual-wavelength Nd:YAG laser. Two wavelengths, 1064nm and 532nm, targeting different concerns at different depths of the skin.
The 1064nm wavelength goes deeper. It addresses pigmentation sitting beneath the surface, stimulates collagen production, and improves overall tone and texture over time. The 532nm wavelength works closer to the surface, targeting visible pigment, vascular lesions, and superficial discolouration.
Together they let us address multiple concerns in one session. Uneven tone, texture, pigmentation, fine lines. Not one problem treated while others get ignored.
We adjust the settings for each patient based on skin type, concern, and what the skin can handle. What we use for someone with melasma looks different from what we use for textural improvement or acne scarring.
What Are the Benefits of Helios Laser Treatment?
We explain this clearly to every patient because laser treatment language gets vague quickly.
- Pigmentation improvement: brown spots, sun damage, melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from acne.
- Helios breaks up melanin clusters and lets the body clear them naturally. Results are visible and, in many cases, lasting.
- Collagen stimulation: the laser creates controlled thermal energy in the dermis. The skin responds by producing new collagen. Over weeks after treatment, texture improves, fine lines soften, pores appear smaller. This is structural remodelling, not a surface effect.
- Skin tone evening: patchy, uneven tone from years of sun exposure responds well. Patients often describe results as their skin looking more like itself again, before the damage built up.
- Acne scar improvement: post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and superficial textural scarring respond consistently in our patients.
- Minimal downtime: most patients have redness and mild sensitivity for a day or two. Nothing that takes a week off work.
Helios Laser Before and After: What We See in Our Clinic
The timeline is consistent across most patients.
In the week or two after treatment, pigmentation sometimes looks temporarily darker before it fades. The melanin is fragmenting and moving toward the surface. Normal, expected, and something we always tell patients upfront, so they aren’t alarmed by it.
Three to four weeks after a session, visible improvement in tone and clarity. Four to eight weeks, collagen remodelling shows in texture and fine lines.
For most concerns we recommend three to five sessions, spaced three to four weeks apart. Mild pigmentation may resolve in fewer. More established damage takes longer.
We photograph every patient at each visit and review results together. The before and after progression is something we track carefully because it tells us how to adjust the next session.
What We Ask of Patients Before and After Each Session
Before treatment, avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks. Sunburned or recently tanned skin cannot be treated safely. Stop retinoids five to seven days before.
Come in with clean skin on the day. We apply numbing cream where needed. The session takes thirty to forty-five minutes.
After treatment, sunscreen every day without exception. The skin is more sensitive to UV while healing and sun exposure during this period can stimulate pigment and undo results. Avoid direct sun for at least two weeks.
No intense exercise, heat, or saunas for 48 hours. Keep skin hydrated and avoid harsh products while the skin settles.
FAQs:
What are the benefits of Helios Laser Treatment?
Pigmentation reduction, collagen stimulation, skin tone evening, acne scar improvement, and minimal downtime. Multiple concerns addressed in one treatment with settings tailored to each patient.
What does Helios Laser before and after look like?
Three to four weeks after a session, clearer skin tone. Four to eight weeks, better texture and softer fine lines. Results build across a course of sessions. We photograph progress at every visit.
How many sessions does it take?
Most patients need three to five sessions. The number depends on what’s being treated and how the skin responds. We review results after each session and adjust from there.
How do we know if Helios is right for a specific patient?
We assess skin type, concern, and history before recommending any treatment. Not every concern responds the same way and we’d rather have that conversation upfront than after a patient has already started a course.
What We Watch Happen Over Time
Patients come back for their second session looking different from the first visit. Not dramatically. Gradually. The skin starts looking cleaner, more even, more like the version they remember before the damage built up.
By the third or fourth session, the improvement shows clearly in the photos. The patient sees it in the mirror. That progression, session by session, is what we’re working toward with every Helios patient.
Reagin Aesthetic provides Helios Laser Treatment with full skin assessment before every course and progress review after each session. If uneven tone, pigmentation, or texture has been affecting confidence, that assessment is the right place to start.
